New Street Motorcycle Movie

Ok so perhaps it isn't even written yet, but I'm working on it. And I'm looking for some help from anyone who is interested. I want to focus on a few friends who are just getting started in track riding. Anyone interested or have any ideas I should include?

Who do you have in mind to help pay the bills on it? Maybe you can get a major motorcylcle company to help(Honda) that way you can use their bikes.Just a thought...

Are you going to show the progression from canyon/street riding to track riding..just wondering?

THE SECRET TO LIFE, ARE THE CHOICES WE MAKE!!

Yes. May start out small, I've seen a couple MX movies out, small budget type deals. I guess for now I'll just concentrate on getting it written, take some cool photos and maybe even some film of track days or canyon stuff, just to use as part of the pitch.

Most definitely, I want to stay as far away from Torque / Biker Boys as I can.

Well . . . =) Never written a movie before. Took the class in college and I've published a few short stories, but nothing bigger than that. As far as contacts in HW, Let me say, Kind of? It a "my brother-in-law works for Walden Media" sort of thing. If I write a good enough script, take some decent film footage on the track and in the canyons, I feel confident something will come along.

Yeha, that was kind of what got me started on the idea. How much money guys put into these bikes, going out on the weekends dragging knee through the canyons or tracks, the definition of a squid, everything that goes along with being a streetrider rather than some turd, selling drugs or being part of a gang.
I never saw Biker Boys but I know the premise and I know some of the guys the movie was based on. I want to show the other side, the normal side, guys getting out there and either doing it for love of for a desire to go pro.

Interesting. Does he ride? If I ever got a script together, do you think he could be convinced to read it?

Tuna:

If I ever got a scrpit together, do you think your friends would be interested in reading it? I've been looking for other movies on streetriding (besides stunt videos) and the only thing I can really come up with is, "Faster." Ewan Mcgragor ( who narrated Faster) also made a movie about a road trip he and a friend did on their bikes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Nascar ( I would put tham as Motorcycle racing's biggest rival) seems to be stalling in their popularity, perhaps the time is right for a good motorcycle movie with some depth.
