Smile Hotel Rwanda

I just finished this movie and all I can say is wow. It was very good and thought provoking. Watching it made me feel close minded and inconsiderate because it is unbelievable that something like this happened. Everytime I may even begin to think I have it rough, I can remember how things like this are occuring in today's world. Definately makes me want to look into ways to help out other human beings. If you haven't seen it, I would definately recommend it.

If you want to read a great book on that same subject, its called "Shake Hands with the Devil", by Romeo D'Allaire...it is even more disturbing, it goes a little further into how most of the industrialized nations, and the UN turned there backs on the people of Rwanda. The guy that wrote it was a general for a peacekeeping force from Canada, he tells it how it is and blames his government, the UN and the rest of the "rich" nations for not helping and denying what was going on. Some of the stuff he saw was pretty gross. He' is still fighting with issues to this day.
