Linkin Park: Minutes to Midnight...

Damn, I'm not very blown away by the new album....the songs that rock (4 songs?!!!) do sound good and are a good follow up, but Meteora/Re-anime/Hybrid Theory/Live in Texas even the disc with Jay-Z are still way above this new one, atleast as far as what I like about LP.

I don't get it what the hell happened, did they get married, have some kids, or something that made them go soft? What happened to the depressed, **** you, pissed off rage? All these slow songs.....wow.....I think somewhere they lost their edge. I'm a huge LP fan, but this new cd just doesn't do it for me. The 4 songs that rock are good but out of 11 songs and 1 that is just an intro....hmmm I'm starting to think Mike should not have done Ft Minor and concentrated more on getting this album up to speed. Although Ft Minor is a good disc, besides where is all the crazy sampling/scratching from Han?

I'm glad I bought the $10 CD and not the MVI/CD for $17!!! Would I go to see LP on tour with this album.....not likely, I've seen both other albums but I'm not very impressed with 4 out of 11 songs being fast and having a rock edge.

I don't know, I'm just not impressed with just 4 rock songs out of 11. I've been anticipating this album for a while now and feel sort of let down/disappointed especially when the website played 3 of 4 rock songs.

I think if Meteora heard Minutes to Midnight, it'd kick its ass in the blink of an eye, then Hybrid Theory would torch whatevers left, then Re-Anime would swoop in and dust off the ashes!!!!

Yea so we listened to it last night.....My wife was even like WTF??? One one of the songs, she even says "This sounds like that sone that the one guy did with that girl "Where'd You Go, I Miss You So" (not sure of the song name or anything). But yea, i was dissapointed, oh well, everyone puts out a bad one every once in awhile ya know.

They have been saying for awhile now they are going for a totally different sound. They had a totally new producer for this album. Its not the typical linkin park we all know and love but its not bad either. It is nowhere near as good as their other albums. Ive always liked their hard and soft songs but these just fall a little short of what they have done in the past. Their songs were always great at making you feel something inside while listening where there is only a couple of really good songs on this album. Aww well.

I haven't heard it yet, but I was disappointed when I heard they were changing their style. From the above posts, it seems similar to what happened to Stone Temple Pilots, where they got all wussy after the second album.

sucks. i gave it the benefit of the doubt and listened to it 3x. still sucked. there are maybe 2 songs that are okay.

You've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

All bands that come out and are all hardcore eventually go soft... Bad example but look a Limp Bizkit.. Remember their first album? Yeah well they turned it into bitch music quickly.

I guess it's hard to stay pissed off at the world when you make it big and have all the money and pu$$y you can handle.

I'm never wrong. I once thought I was wrong, turns out, I was mistaken.
