My first GP event

http://indymotorspeedway.com/

Is what they have on the site above pretty accurate on what to expect? What about getting parking in the infield? Do you need to get there really early or is there plenty of parking?

School me fellow RRers. I want to get the most out of my trip.

I was mainly referring to the "what to take" and the "food & beverage" sections. Ie.. bringing outside food and drink in, grilling ect....

Thanks

Infield parking sucks to get out of during race day. If you parked across the street from an entrance, it's much easier from my past experience.

what about parking downtown at the hotel, and then paying the $15 for the city shuttle tickets to go back and forth whenever? I was thinking of doing that so Im downtown at night for the partying and dont have to fight traffic

Currently have an XR650L thumper

That shuttle thing is crap....we ended up driving from the downtown hotel and picked up a few people waiting for the shuttle on the way. But staying downtown is definitely the best place to be, bike night on Fri & Sat with all the bars, $2 drinks.

You also don't have to park at the track parking, in the little neighbourhoods surrounding the track the people that live there sell parking spots on their lawns! They even do up grill and sell beverages, its pretty fun. So check that out its cheaper and you support the locals.
