I wonder how true that story is? If he really did sign with Honda I imagine he would take Pedrosa's spot? And who would take Stoners spot at Ducati? I would think it will be either Rossi or Lorenzo.

rossi would be untouchable on the Ducati.

Doubtful.

Until this season, the results have been pretty poor for any rider not named Stoner on the 800cc duc. Rossi is very used to the M1 if he is going to make a switch, it seems like it would make sense to do so when they go back to 1000cc when all of the bikes may change substantially.

Since Stoner knows the Honda it should be interesting if its true.

Ofcourse the rumors of Rossi going to Ducati or Ferrari in F1 are always around. No matter the case Yamaha will need to decide on Lorenzo or Rossi as Lorenzo is heard to be looking for a bigger paycheck and yamaha is looking to cut Rossi's paycheck. However if Rossi wins another championship its going to be cutting anyone's paycheck.

do you remember how Rossi used to ride the 500cc Honda back when he won his 1st Premier series championship?!!
That bike used to throw him around, lose the rear, and behave more like a bucking bronco than a GP bike (like a drunk, peg-legged Desmo GP9 on Meth).

Rossi would probaby win by 100+ points if he were on a Ducati. He'd win at Mugello (huuuuuuuuuge straight) by maybe 20 seconds.
I wish I were exaggerating.

I agree with fallingbomb on this one. I think it would take Rossi a bit of time to get used to that Ducati and it seems that the bike does not suit most riders. That being said, I think Rossi is the GOAT and can probably adapt to anything but with rider's like Stoner and Lorenzo out there I think a championship win in his first year would be almost impossible.

Interesting. I do think Stoner is Honda's next shot at a championship. Dani is good, but he doesn't seem to be consistent enough.

Dani on the Duc? It could happen! Rossi or Lorenzo to Suzuki???

Its been what two races? I hope he stays focused and keeps the rubber side down, I'm still rooting for Hayden and Rossi though...

Hayden, because he works hard and makes no excuses... When things are going good he's humble about his success/progress, gives all the credit to his supporting cast.

Yes I do remember that but the ducati has proven itself to be a very difficult bike to ride well. Seems like Stoner is the only one that can compete on it although Hayden is getting better. Also, I don't think the field was as competitive.
Also, do you remember that when Rossi won the champioship in his first year with Yamaha his nearest competitor was Max Biaggi???
Lorenzo, Pedrosa, and Stoney were not in the picture. The competition is much more fierce now.

he was winning championships by a larger margin against guys that scored points in every race. vs nowadays where jorge can miss 4 races in 2009 and be closer in the points than sete was in 2003.
