Gretzky didn't fade away. He just had a poor team around him. You could say the same about Jordan on the Wizards. That being said, Bayliss' situation wouldn't be ideal. It's like Schumacher's return to F1, not on the Ferrari team. Sure, Bayliss would come back on the factory Ducati, for sure, but the Ducati isn't the machine to beat right now, at least not in factory trim (see: Checa). It should have been a Bayliss v. Spies. But at the moment, I'm happy that it's Biaggi fighting with Haslem. These guys may not be Bayliss or Spies, but they're very good riders. I mean who doesn't want to see either an Aprillia or Suzuki on the top after it's been Ducati dominance for so long?
