Surprise, surprise, the man to beat Lorenzo laid down a scorcher is almost a quarter of a second faster than the second man in the order, Casey Stoner. This is a track that suits the Ducati and Casey is showing some of that form that will make this championship exciting again. The two Repsol Hondas bring in 3rd and 4th (Dani and Dovi, respectively). Ben Spies, a veritable noob on this track, is showing that he is indeed a fast learner, bringing in 5th place. The other surprise of the order is Espargaro in 6th. De Puniet, Hayden, Edwards and Simoncelli make up the top 10.
