what is up with the two canards that are on his bike?? is this some new aerodynamic package that ducati is working on??

To help keep the front end down according to speed's announcers during the last GP race I watched on tv.

Ducati started using them last weekend. Supposedly the front end problems they have been having was from not enough weight being on the front. Ducati claims those are to force more weight onto the front end while keeping within aero restrictions. The bikes do create quite a lot of lift at speed, which is bad when leaned over.
