Peter Lenz - Fatal crash

http://peterlenz.com/news/

Quote:
Peter passed away early this morning when he was apparently struck by another rider. He passed doing what he loved and had his go fast face on as he pulled onto the track. The world lost one of its brightest lights today. God Bless Peter and the other rider involved. #45 is on another road we can only hope to reach. Miss you kiddo. - Dad

That sucks... I was looking at some of his pictures, and he looked as if he was laying on the track as he went through those corners! Mad respect...

He went down at turn 3 and got hit by another rider. My gf and I arrived as EMS was beginning chest compressions and putting him in a c-collar. I didn't realize who it was until we were on our way back from Indy.
I just found out about him a few months ago, but this was probably one of the most talented riders of our day. My prayers go out to his family and friends. We lost a protege today..

I was at MotoGP today in Indianapolis, and his death wasn't confirmed til near the end of the race day. For those who haven't seen this video of him, take a look. He did die doing what he loved... rest in peace Peter.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family of young Peter. He was truly an up and coming future racer.

I was kind of surprised when I heard where it happened, as Turn 3 is a fairly slow turn in the scheme of things. He did get run over by another rider though and I would say that is where the majority of injuries came from. Sad, sad, sad!

Godspeed Peter!

I'm truly gutted. I've been following this kid for a little while now. Awe inspiring when you get on track and some little kid blows by you like your standing still.

RIP Peter. Prayers go out to your family.

Very sad, I am proud of his father who had the courage to allow him to race at such young age. Definately makes me want to train my younger one to become the first long bearded moto gp rider.

This article is pointing how parents are to blame for this.

RIP young rider.

No one is to blame for this. It was just an unfortunate accident that could have had the same outcome with anyone no matter what their age is.

From a user on the WERA forum about this.
Quote:
Contrast this accident with the thousands of 12-13 year olds who are killed or injured from skate boarding, bicycle, swimming, little league sports etc every year.
Statistics would be on the side of Peter every day of the year.
People need to stop blaming this on Peter, the Xavier, or their parents. All of these news sourced trying to put blame on places just need to ******* stop.

Its new to the media so thay are going to hop all over it and point out how dangerous this sport is and try to blame everyone.
