Hopper back in MotoGP!!! Well..kinda.....

The American will test a factory GSV-R at next month's Qatar test at the Losail International Circuit having been chosen as injury cover for Spaniard Alvaor Bautista in 2011.

I kind of hope he does make his way back to the international scene. Local (to us SoCal folk) and a genuinely nice guy. Saw him tooling around the WSBK paddock at Miller last year while recovering from surgery.

I think Suzuki is just planning ahead for possible replacement rider should Bautista get injured later on in the season.

I could take him or leave him... he seems a bit arrogant... and he's not that good.

i think he's good but just never got a break due to either wrong team or injuries. I do want to see him back in motogp but not like this. i hope he remains in ama superbike this year and does the full season. He looked very promising last year.

There have been rumours that the Suzuki team will actually run a second bike for him at a couple of events later in the season; probably at least the British MotoGP round at Silverstone.

Hopper is competing in British Superbikes, this coming season, for the Crescent Suzuki Team and will be taking part in the Donnington WSBK round on a Suzuki as well.

It would be good to see him back. He's not quite the fifth "alien" but, on his day, he can far outperform his machinery. He probably deserves another crack at it anyway. Just hope he can stay fit and out of bother for a while!

Hoppers problem was he never had a bike capable of the task. The Suzuki's were getting close and then they ruined MotoGP, er....uhhh I mean, switched to 800cc, and those teams were lost in the wilderness again.

Happy to see him get Pole in Silverstone as a wildcard. This might seal the deal for a GP ride in 2012. Hope he stays healthy coz he's back to form.

thats great! considering how he did when he was in wsbk a few yrs back.
then jumped to ama.
and now with bsb...doing great on tracks hes never been on.
now pole as a wildcard.
i hope rizla suzuki gets him back on the grid. but with a better factory bike. hopefully with the new 1kcc and rules, he'll be competitive with the rest of the field/competition.

He's got a wild card entry for Brno in a couple of weeks. I think we might see him on a second Suzuki in MotoGP next year.

Too bad the pole didn't work out for him, that would have been awesome. Rear brake de-laminated in the 1st race, and he used up his tires in the 2nd.

Damn good effort though, hope he does well at Brno.
