Thumbs up Charge: Zero emissions / maximum speed **New Film From 'Faster' director Mark Neale**

A NEW FILM BY MARK NEALE THE DIRECTOR OF FASTER.

Narrated by EWAN McGREGOR.

CHARGE Is proof that maniacs on motorcycles can be a force for global good.

The movie follows several teams to the world’s first zero-emissions grand prix on the Isle of Man in 2009, and on their return in 2010. For the visionaries, it’s history. For the petrol-heads, it’s blasphemy. What’s racing without the sound and fury of internal combustion engines?

Among the electric racers are two American teams vying not only to win the first zero-emissions grand prix, but also to be the first all-American competitors, with an American-built motorcycle and an American rider, to win a TT since racing began on the Isle of Man in 1907.

Synopsis

CHARGE captures a pivotal moment in motor sport history: the dawn of the zero-emissions racing era. It came on June 12th 2009, the day of the world’s first zero-emissions motorcycle grand prix. The race took place on the Isle of Man TT course, the most demanding and deadly circuit on the planet.

The film begins in early 2009 amid the hectic preparations for the race and concludes over a year later at the 2010 TT Zero. The second race sees a huge leap in performance – proof that racing really does improve the breed and that maniacs on motorcycles can be a force for global good.

We follow the fortunes of several teams in the run-up to the 2009 race and on their return in 2010, from swaggering US hotshots MotoCzysz to shoestring Anglo-Indian contenders Team Agni and local heroes ManTTx Racing.

CHARGE is the dramatic and highly entertaining inside story of an unlikely group of pioneers – obsessed visionaries, ambitious businessmen, new-tech eccentrics, government ministers and hardcore racers - from as far afield as India, the USA, Germany and Britain. It’s a human story as well as a technological one: the teams’ hopes for personal glory and commercial success ride on their green machines.

It’s about the dream of a clean, green world. It’s about the dream of winning.
Feature-length documentary. High Definition. 90 minutes.

I happen to love electric vehicle technology but it isn't zero emissions, it's zero emissions *at the site*. Somewhere a big coal burning plant is producing the electricity needed to charge the bikes.

I will absolutely buy the DVD. I fly large electric R/C heli's using brushless motors and LiPo (lithium/polymer) cells and they out perform the nitro burners I replaced with them.

In that respect there isn't a single power source on this earth that zero emissions.

Looking forward to watching this movie, but I will probably wait until Fastest releases so I can grab them both at the same time. Just watched TDTKK on you tube a few weeks ago and loved it. Im sure these will will not disappoint.

They are not far from production bikes considering Motoczysz or however you spell has only been making these bikes for about two years. Top speed of 163mph.
