Stoner completes three-day test at Sugo** Video link added **

Casey Stoner has come to the end of a three-day test at Japan’s Sportsland Sugo circuit, run between Monday and Wednesday. The two-time MotoGP™ World Champion worked on the 2013 and 2014 RC213V Honda prototype machines.

Although the Australian was pleased that rain did not affect proceedings as had been the case with previous test sessions at Motegi earlier this year, Stoner was unable to test the Honda Production Racer which instead was run by Takumi Takahashi.

“It’s been quite a good three days and we got a lot of track time, considering it gets dark and cold here quite quickly!” Stoner reported.

“We had a busy test schedule based on the current 2013 bike and an updated version of the 2014 bike. Both have some very positive aspects and we’re just trying to get a better understanding of them. It was a little tricky to get a true feeling here at Sugo as we had no comparison - with it being the first time we’ve ridden here. All in all, it was a good test and the first time we’ve not been interrupted by rain!”

The Sugo venue is located in the Shibata District of Japan’s Miyagi Prefecture, measuring 3.737 kilometres (2.323 miles) in length.

Dave
It's about time he can call his own shots imagine since he was a kid he did not have the freedom to wake up and go do something different than what was already planned for him to do that specific day It sure paid off at the end but he have put in the sacrifices all his younger years growing up to accomplish his goals & dreams which are / were beyond our dreams & goals

The interesting thing is, Sugo is owned by Yamaha so why the fudge would they test there? How much did Yamaha charge them? How much intelligence did Yamaha gather (like we'll ever find out about that one) I need information dammit!

Well, Motegi is owned by Honda, and Yamaha does the majority of it's testing there. Seems that it's not that abnormal.

I don't really know, but are you sure Yamaha does most of its testing there?

They were saying this bike (with Stoner on it) was only 2 or 3 tenths off the prototype pace. If they are really that quick, it's more of a satellite bike than a production racer.

During practice at Motegi the eurosport announcers were talking about the Yamaha test rider who had a wild card entry (I cant remember his name) and they were saying how he knows that track better than anyone because he spends so much time testing there.

Could be. But you are referring to Katsuyuki Nakasuga, he is a multiple Japan SBK champion, so that is why.
