Aprilia RSV4 RF

http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/20...ist-first-ride

I haven't seen anything bad about this bike yet. I've been considering adding another bike to my garage, and I think this just went to the top of the list. It seems heavy at 460 lbs, but if the chassis and electronics are as great as all the press says, the weight probably isn't gonna matter much.

It's limited production, so I seriously doubt I'd be able to get my hands on one, but I can hope....

As far as I know the bike isn't sold out yet so I suppose you still have time ;)

Aprilia does it again! such a nice looking bike. SR review :)
I believe that thought to be more true as I tug on the RSV4’s throttle, the bike's front end climbing off the ground as I tuck in behind the bike’s redesigned bubble and accelerate down the short front straight. Moments later I glance down at my lap time (displayed via an iPhone using Aprilia’s V4-MP app!), only to be brought back to reality and reminded of why after this lap I’ll be heading back home and writing a review on this bike rather than flying over to Assen for the next World Superbike round. For that lap though, Aprilia’s RSV4 RF made me feel like a superhero—as if I could do no wrong.

The Aprilia RSV4 is that good.

"The chassis is, in contrast, an absolute gem. It has more feel than anything in the category, which ultimately eggs you into leaning it over further than you would anything else and staying on the brakes a little bit longer into the corner, all the while laughing in your helmet and thinking, “How the hell am I still on two wheels?” The RSV4 isn't the lightest bike in the literbike segment (Aprilia does say the bike is 5.5 pounds lighter in total, or right around 460 pounds with full tank of fuel), but it still flicks from side to side with relative ease and only feels slightly sluggish as you steer the thing into a corner. I'm not walking out on a limb by saying that this is one of the best chassis in the segment, if not motorcycling as a whole."

And how impressive is this
Aprilia's V4-MP app (available with iPhone or Android) allows you to program the settings for aTC and aWC so that the bike adjust settings for those systems corner by corner. Notice that in the next sector, wheelie control and traction control will both be reduced.

For the first time Aprilia has a proper Superstock bike, and already races the European championship - As a matter of fact they had an amazing start with top3 finish on the first round.
Let's hope that this time, their bike will push a little more the sales.
It's one of the best modern superbikes (if not the best) and has by far the lesser sales worldwirde...

Still waiting to see it in the Liter shootouts, It was missing in the latest SR mag one, they just didn't have one to test in time. R1 coming out on top thus far, all things considered

Low sales not for unknown or without reason.
The bike proved poor in many aspects.
You better ask someone that had experience with it or visit the best aprilia forum available, apriliaforum.com

It remains a dream bike, with an amazing exhaust sound and one of the best frames available if you're coming from a 600 bike...

The RSV4 is a beautiful bike. I'll still take my Duc but that Aprilia is a great bike. Shootout from motorcycle.com is weird. No lap times? Not sure how you can do a proper track test and not record lap times.

Aprilias don't sell a ton because the dealer network sucks. Can't tell u how many times I've heard. "Is buy one but the local dealer sucks and isn't primarily an Aprilia dealer"
Or "I'd buy one but the closest dealer is 4.5hrs away"
That is Aprilias problem. Not the product.

I do t know bout that stock weight as mine isn't. But the chassis is amazing. The motor is unlike anything else out there, and I have a 10 this new one has 25more hp. So I can only imagine.
Ditch the stock boat anchor of an exhaust and get a race ecu and you shouldn't need anything else.

They do like a proper TTX rear shock too. Then get that fork offset right and the rear height and supposedly it makes a damn good handling bike even more amazing.

And if u do t think it's a good bike. This new RF is cleaning up superstock in WSBK and doing damn good here too.

Finally remember 09. BMW and Aprilia entered WSBK. BMW put a lot of money into their racing program. More than Aprilia probably. Either way, 4 years on. Aprilia won 2 WSBK championships. BMW still hasn't. But everyone keeps going on and on about the BMW.
