Can't believe Michael Dunlop has jumped ship so close to the start of the races!! That new R1 obviously isn't working for him.

And yes, very sad to hear about the latest death on the mountain course. Thing is, these guys know the risks and ride anyway. It's a love affair for all those who do it.

Yeah i heard hes rejoined BMW... Dont blame him the S1000rr is a beast of a machine, The new R1 only seems to be a minority in the BSB championship...

I agree with you, The danger of the TT is right up there and the guys and girls know what to expect but they cant reject it, Fair play to them all!

whilst Dunlop's move does not reflect well on Yamaha I do not think it reflects well on Dunlop. to leave a livery short of a rider so close to D Day will surely leave future possible "employers" question his commitment when the going gets tough (or in this case when the going gets slow)

of course I am sure that we, as fans and spectators, are unlikely to ever get all the facts and information that led to this and perhaps the "insiders" having more of a glimpse into the real situation will not view man or machine in the same light as we might (hope this makes sense)

It does also tell future employers that they better have their shít together if they want MD to ride their bike. I kinda respect his decision, the guy's won 11 TT's and won't settle for second best.

that is another way of looking at it but then again isn't the responsibility of the rider to develop the bike? how come only now he has decided it is not good enough?

there are so many ways of looking at this that not having the full story only opens the gate of speculations - inevitably, I suspect, people will take one sided views on this and that could either be interesting or just unpleasant .. this is just my opinion of course

Yeah you're right, we don't know the facts. Indeed we can only speculate as to why MD wasn't happy, but one thing's for sure - a rider must be 100% happy with the bike to allow them to focus fully on the job in hand. There's just no room for error at the TT and a distracted rider could well be a doomed rider. For his own safety if nothing else, this is probably the right decision.

the way I understand it is that his main issue was the bike being too slow and the fact there was some sort of oil splutter in the air box..to me it sounds more like he did not want to be on a "non-competitive" bike... I agree a rider's state of mind has lots to do with his perceived safety but still doubt that was the issue
frankly I am not sure what he expected when it is a brand new bike they have only worked on for few months...

needless to say the "blame game" has already commenced...

I know ITV does "on demand" for most of his programmes meaning those programmes are available to stream for a certain number of days after being aired lived from the ITV iplayer (check the website)- not sure the TT is on it but good chance it is..can try having a look for you..hold on..yes , it is available for free on the ITV iplayer; you need to set up a free account but it takes 3 minutes..

Iom tt 2015

Great to see Bruce take his first Superbike win. Also amazing to see Hutchy go so well. Second is fantastic and he wasn't far away from winning it outright, all after doctors told him he'd never ride again. Great story.

Michael Dunlop was lucky to escape without serious injury after his accident, same goes for Gary Johnson.

There's always one idiot though...
