Poor guy. He sure does get a lot of attention though. He had his best run on the Honda Enron team when he almost beat Matt Mladin, but instead he crashed into the hay bail. Anyone remember that last lap? Year? Track? Bike? (I think I know.)

kurtis is very fast, scrappy and most of all fearless. not intimidated by anyone, which is why mladin hated him. there post and pre race press conferences were priceless. kurtis' big mistake was leaving ama after having finally broken thru and won, on a semi-factory machine!! he should have stayed and pushed hard for the factory honda ride or gotten on a more polished semi team like graves yamaha. instead he wasted a year on the piece of crap proton n motogp and in the process lost a lot of confidence as well as sponsor and executive attention. i talked to him at barber this year and he's eager to get back on a competitive machine, and forget the last 2 years when he tried a comback with erion but the team just wasn't up to snuff. many people call kurtis a whiner who always blames the ride when he loses, but i think it is the fact that he has on occasion criticised his ride publically that hurts his image. he is really one of the nicest guys in the paddock, always willing to chat for as long as YOU like! this is his first time on a duc, and he has never seen any of the tracks on the remaining WSB schedule so don't expect him to lite the world on fire. i for one, love his riding style and competitiveness and hope he lands o good ride soon on a permanent basis.

I think Curtiis should have stayed put here in the US as well...He was up front at almost every race...I agree with Muffin Man he's not familiar with those WSB tracks or the bike. I'm sure after a few rides he'll be moving closer to the front because he has so much natural talent.
