Why doesn't Mat Mladin's old ass move on up to MotoGP before he kicks the boot? lol

Is it really because hes too fat?

He is too old for the profiles that teams are looking for. Also there are too many politics involved with MotoGP, I think he wants to avoid that BS.

It's because he's satisfied w/ being competetive w/ "HighSchool level racing!!!"

Plus he's too old for the pros now!

cuz he has a family and its the young men's game to go travel around europe all year. he's got a good team, a good paycheck, and a good set-up. basicly he's scared and wants to stay where its safe. plus, they wouldn't take him now anyway.

Plus he's got competition again with the likes of Spies. Also, now that everyone knows the Zuks had traction control, and the ama went and made it legal for everyone, there might be even more competition to come.

I was in awe of Yoshi Suzuki before I found that out. Traction Control should be banned from all forms of superbike racing. I want the best riders to win, not the richest owners.

Yeah What visladog said - he's already had a shot. In either a superbikeplanet interview or a Speed interview, Matt Mladin said he's got too much going on here in the States to try and bounce all over Europe and the rest of the world. He has a family and race team, and I think a small farm. The dude is set in his ways, he's comfy. I think if he doesn't come back and whoop Ben Spies ass next year, he's going to start talking about retiring or at least people will start bringing up the question.

Ben Spies should be the one going to MotoGP!

IF he won. It takes ALOT of money to even get on the grid there. He would have to be a champion to get a good salary.

vizsladog...its all about the sponsor checks in Motogp they far out weigh what the teams salary is.

And i know this. Thats why Repsol is paying HUGE money to have Dani on the team. THim going to repsol is why Movistar left motorcycles.

Checa is riding for FREE this year. It takes HUGE money to be on a motogp grid. Only the top 5 names make the huge money.

Rossi's salary is not even half of what he makes for the year, win bounus, helmet sponsor, leather sponsor ect. Do you think james elision gets paid huge to wear his leather brand???? Some just get free product just like in the AMA.

Matt Mladin makes more than Colin Edwards does.

I'm not gonna b!tch about mladin staying in AMA so long since as has been said before he has already been to GP back in the day

what bothers me is that Ben Spies is re-signing with Yosh Suzuki for 2 years. I could see one more year but commiting to stay for 2 more years as good as he's already gotten seems like a bad idea, especially if one of his excuses is that he doesn't like to fly (anybody else think mladin became a pilot just to mess with Ben? lol)
don't get me wrong I think ben is a cool guy ("Mongo Who?" lol) but he needs to keep his options open

Mladin will probably retire in the next year or two and after seeing his face after losing at Mid-O I wouldn't be surprised if this was his last year
