Moto GP 2017 Round 15 Twin Ring Motegi ***SPOILER***

We are BACK for the flyaways!! Marc looking good, can he keep it going with another win..... Dovi and Maverick need strong results here, running out of time, we are down to 3 riders, and most likely down to Valencia :)

About the circuit

Located amongst the vast natural beauty of the northern Kanto district, the twin ring circuit at Motegi in Japan consists of a 1.5 mile oval and a 2.9 mile road course constructed to international standards. Built by Honda as the ultimate test facility in August 1997, the road circuit became home to MotoGP in 2000 whilst the oval is designed to introduce American motorsports culture to the country.
Twin Ring Motegi is a major attraction for motorsports fans all year round as it is the venue for the Honda Collection Hall, a museum which houses an illustrious collection of motorcycle, car and racing machines from throughout the ages. The complex also includes a safety and riding school, dirt track, go-karts, hotel, restaurant, shops and event halls and currently employs some 300 staff.

Yes, all good questions... I also wonder if Marquez can keep riding on the edge! Stakes are high for all the leaders for sure.

And the tires, it's always interesting to see that factor play out in practice and the race.

haha Marc lives on the edge, he might be the best of riding the limit, testing the limit , going over the limit, and putting it to use Sunday. Looks like a wet race, maybe just maybe we will see a flag to flag.... Aleix looking very good, still see Marc vs Dovi here, they are 1-2 in points and most likely on Sunday, Dovi will be pushing very hard to beat Marc, 16pts behind him, any more could spell disaster...

Just watched Q2, crazy.... congrats Zarco getting the pole ! Marc near crash gets on the front row, oh boy are the Factory Yams in trouble here :O Dovi down to P9 ?? I see Jorge getting holeshot here and perhaps winning? Marc will want the 25pts but at the same time as long as his rivals are behind he will not be as aggressive lol, but then again its Marc :P Wont be a normal podium imo

Qual
Star rookie Johann Zarco takes pole position for the Japanese MotoGP on a wet but drying track at Motegi, ahead of Danilo Petrucci and Marc Marquez.

Despite falling for the first time since breaking his leg in the previous FP4 session, Valentino Rossi gambled on slick tyres for the start of Qualifying 2. Everyone else used wets.

The Italian pitted for wets after lapping 15sec off the pace - but Marquez surprisingly went the other way, switching from wets to slicks and ultimately dropping from pole to third as a result.

Nonetheless, nearest title rival Andrea Dovizioso could only manage ninth, with third-in-the-points Maverick Vinales just 14th.

Jack Miller is missing the event after breaking his right tibia in a trials incident on September 29 and is replaced by HRC test rider Hiroshi Aoyama.

Qualifying was crazy and kudos to Johan for putting it on pole. KTM is showing to be more and more competitive. I'm really impressed by Marquez' wet weather performances this year.
