Hope he has what it takes....

He has also been off the pace on race tires.

Rossi can win from 15th on the grid. Fornt row may as well be pole for him

Oh well that I knew already. That's been going around for a while. But he HAS to be the test dummy because he's their most senior rider (other than Makoto Tamada).

Melandri, Stoner and Pedrosa have less time on the RC211V. Melandri was offered to be the test mule and he refused.

it was just pretty interesting to me coz one of the commentators asked nicky about signing with yamaha and he said nothing is set in stone yet but the way he's being the test dummy is making him lean more towards other bikes vs staying with honda

I dont want everyone to think im a Hyaden Hater.

I REALLY do want him to win it...but man,he needs race wins, not podiums.

Lets hope he can do it...

What i will and can say is i have no right to judge or criticize anyone.

And thats what i felt i have done...

I'm in no place to be an arm chair racer or jury.

So i will apologise for that.

Hayden has a dream carrer and has more talent than i can dream of having. So im in no shape to judge anyone.

He's complaining of lack of grip on race tires. Watching his times, he's not that consistently fast on race set up either. If Rossi doesn't pull away from the start it will be between Rossi and the red bike and maybe Edwards. Hope I'm wrong and the Repsol boys can work some magic.

If he's complaining about grip on race tires then he probably has a good beef. He's got time to figure out what tires to use.

I wouldn't count Hayden out of this one so fast. This is one of his favorite tracks.

I'm sure every rider is complaining about lack of grip. Just gotta get it done--adjust and work around it.

Seeing how Nicky has pole and his bike is running really good, this is the best opportunity for him to distance himself from the pack. And if he can't get it done...man, let the flaming begin!

Spoiler

1. Melandri
2. Vermeulen
3. Rossi
4. Gibernau
5. Hayden

Damn, how the change of tires after the first few laps really changed how the race turned out.

Wonder how the controversy about Rossi passing on a yellow flag will turn out.

Did not see the race, but if happened this is what I found:

MotoGP rule changes for 2005:

IF IT RAINS, TOUGH!

If it starts to rain in a MotoGP race next year the riders and the teams will just have to grin and bear it. A new rule has been instigated for next season, which clearly states a MotoGP race will not be stopped if it starts raining.

At the moment if it starts to rain, the race is stopped and re-run over the laps remaining on the original schedule. However, next season the riders will have three choices:

1 - Continue riding in dangerous conditions on slick tyres

2 - Come into the pits to change tyres

3 - Come into the pits to change machines, saving time.

YELLOW FLAGS RULES CLEARED UP

The never-ending saga of what to do when a rider overtakes under waved yellow flags took another twist at the weekend. The FIM issued a directive saying if riders overtake under a waved yellow flag, the rider must go back to his position prior to overtaking.

This penalty will first be communicated to the team and then a board will be displayed for three laps to the rider from pit lane. if the rider does not return to his original position after three laps, he will be penalised with a ride through penalty.

If a rider realises immediately he's overtaken under waved yellow flags, he must raise his hand and let pass the rider or riders he has overtaken.

If a rider breaks the rule in practice, his time from the lap on which the incident occurred will be cancelled.

NO TESTING BETWEEN DEC 1 AND JAN 20

The FIM has ruled that no testing is possible between December 1st and January 20th inclusive.
