LAST ROUND (R17) MotoGP - VALENCIA (SPOILERS!!!)Video links added

The results of Free Practice 1 are in. Rossi, Stoner, Hayden, Capirossi and Vermeulen round out the top 5; all are riding blistering fast paces on the first day out, only a couple of seconds from the fastest lap set by Gibernau back in 2005. Enjoy!

WHAT?! DOH! Mang, I just got into work. First thing I did was check the FP. It was 7:30 am. Best thing was seeing Nicky scorching, seeing him only 3 thousandeths of a second behind Rossi. GO NICKY!

FP2, just finished and I'm waiting for the results to post. But just from what I remembered, Capirossi was leading with Rossi and Stoner at 2 or 3. Hayden was running 4th and a bit slower @ 33.888. Will post up as soon as I get it... By the way, was doing some extra credit reading and HRC's Chris Herring confirmed that Honda again had no meeting for this race, but it's a foregone conclusion that Honda's here to get Nicky the title and that's the team goal.

For sure the grid line up will be cool but remember there are a handfull of passing areas/ different lines at Valencia. And Rossi is a master at take overs and holding his line. ;o)

Always passing Gixxer's on the outside ! ! ! . . . .

fo shizzle... did i just say that? well, i won't be able to post any of FP3 and QPs tomorrow, since I'll be at a retreat with my youth group, shaping them up to be fine young men and women of God. there's a little bit of me that would rather be glued to the computer, getting all the updates. last race, this season has been awesome!

Wonder if Rossi has anything to do with that. Due to the fact that they have a good teammate relationship, and anything to keep Rossi happy of course.

Can't wait for this race on Sunday! I'll be at the edge of my seat the whole time.

Also, does anyone else wanna predict if Stoner will crash out again?

Either way, I'm super glad that Edwards has got an awesome factory ride next season. I know the dude can fly and has gotten better in his corner speed in just one year. Stoner, I think just rides really aggressively and I think is a little too late on the brakes sometimes and tucks that front in too often. You put him and Pedrosa together and make Stodrosa or a Pedstoner and you'd have an awesome rider -- aggressive yet calculative. Hmm, sounds like someone we know, we'll just call him... Rossi.

post practice quotes from superbike planet:

Quote:
VALENTINO ROSSI (7th - 1'33.274; 51 laps)

"We found a good setting this morning and we were quite fast from the start, but this afternoon some of the others made big improvements and caught up with us! This afternoon we tried a lot of different things and quite a few tyres, trying to find the best possible package for tomorrow and Sunday. Tyres are fundamental here and its very hard on the left side of the tyre especially. This track isn't so easy and it takes time to find the right setting, but the feeling from the bike is good and in general our race pace is quite fast so we're not really worried. We've got one or two things to improve, especially in a couple of the hard braking areas, but I think if we can make just a couple of improvements then we will be able to fight at the top. For now we will stay calm and focused and tomorrow things will be clearer."
rossi will indeed be rossi. better bring the a game hayden!

Rossi just has a way. He knows the bike and knows how to break it down. Unfortunately, this is something Hayden is getting better on, but isn't nearly as informative as Rossi is to his crew.

im super excited.. and if that sounds homo i dont care.. cuz im super excited.. either way this will be good.. if nicky wins, he earned it.. if rossi wins, he earned it..

2006 was for sure my favorite season to watch so far.. rossi having so many problems early on made for some good racing in the beginning.. not just the rossi show like 05 ;p then to see him really putting effort into making it to the front in so many races even though he qualified badly.. ive been rootin for him to come back on top all year.. but now that he did kinda too well and my boy hayden's in trouble.. whooo.. good stuff.. sunday will be hot

sooperman: good to see guides for the way frequent 600rr.net ;) i always knew my dad meant for me to be on two wheels

Has more to do with Hayden signing with Honda and Stoner signing with Ducati than anything else. They wanted either rider over CE2 but since neither rider was available they chose to re-sign Collin.

I hope no one crashes out, we have a good race, that Hayden wins with Capirossi second, Rossi third and who cares after that?! haha.
