Yea thanks for the reminder!

Only bad thing about CBS is if you miss it (and forgot to record it...) there is no replays... like speed does :(

Thanks again!

Free Practice - Session 2 (combined times)

Combined times, the only carry over from Session 1 was Nicky Hayden. Don't know yet if he had another crash, but he was 14th overall in the second session. Everyone else got faster. Not a good start for him if he's looking to capitalize on the momentum at Assen.

A surprise in the top FIVE is the Dunlop-shod Tech TROIS Yamaha ridden by Sylvain Guintoli. The kid is making a mark and it's good to see. He has talent!

1. Casey Stoner AUS Ducati Marlboro Team (B) 1min 22.737 secs
2. Valentino Rossi ITA Fiat Yamaha Team (M) 1min 23.083 secs

7. Alex Barros BRA Pramac d'Antin MotoGP (B) 1min 23.548 secs

Gonna go out on a limb here and say there will be some crucial crashes this race due to the surface. The new surface has created some nasty bumps in crucial transitions and overtaking areas. Hope none of the top 3 guys go down due to the surface.

Stoner's on pole, but I don't have the times... He gapped Pedrosa by 0.004. Melandri is 3rd, De Puniet 4th, Hopper in 5th, Rossi 6th (his qualifier didn't last a full lap) Colin 13th and Nicky is in 14th because he set his time on a race tire.
Hope this isn't a repeat post.

Fabrizio made his MotoGP debut last year filling in for Toni Elias at the Donington Round but crashed broke his collarbone in the third practice and didn't make it to the race.

Well if anyone can do that it's Rossi, but he better find some more race pace because as of right now he doesn't have the pace that stoner and pedro have. LIke I said though Rossi is Rossi and he will find a way to get up there and battle with pedro and stoner. I am expecting to see them 3 again at the front but whether he can pull away from them I doubt it. Nature of the track really brings in close racing. should be fun, I can't wait.

Yeah, put the dudes from speed channel on CBS. Give them a contract like the "Let's get ready to rumbleeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!! guy.
Those announcers make the race more exciting just by their enthusiasm. If they were to televise the MotoGP on CBS all the time, I would have no reason to subscribe to speed channel.

Current live timing...

Stoner is dropping like a stone currently running in 6th place. Hopkins is dropping too, much like he does in the second half of a race. Dani Pedrosa is MILES ahead of everyone and will probably bring home Repsol and Honda's first win of the season, barring no accidents.

and that is wot happened...

D.Pedrosa
L.cappii
N.Hayden
C.E.
C.Stoner

the bridgestones fell apart except for capirossi.... he held it together, nickyy was flying and dani was out and out quick!!!

well, rossi just overcooked it too early on a very very hot surface, lost the front at full lean, not a hard fall but enough to put him out.... rest of the race was a bit of a prcession but smooth riding by everyone was a pleasure to watch!!

he wasnt really in the overtaken mode , just sliding by on a tighter/better line. then wap, grip let go no wobble or warning, just bam, on the deck...

he would hvae been so quik if that hadnt happened as the M. tires were on fire!

Actually, yes, the tire lost grip, but not because of the tire so much that it was rider error. I know you all think Rossi is the GOAT, but even the GOAT makes a mistake. He DID take a tighter line than RdP, but it seemed that mid-corner, he made an extra little bit of input, not sure which kind. Upon doing so, he upset the chassis a bit, it bobbled slightly, and as the fairing hit the ground, it probably lifted the tires off a hair, just enough that at those lean angles, caused him to wash.

Nicky Hayden WAS flying. The Bridgestone curse at Sachsenring lives on! Great to see Melandri back up there fighting. Finally got all the go-fast and chassis bits the factory team was running.

I watched that race live. From area t13. Was so ******* awesome. I just got back from a 500 something mile ride, there and back, from stuttgart germany to sachsenring. Man, if you guys have never been to a MotoGP race, you have to go to one. One of the most fun things I've done in a long time. Sucked that I didn't get to see much of rossi, but it was still an awesome race. Man, Dani was hauling ass, and Nicky was moving too! If that race had gone on longer, Nicky would have caught cappy, for sure.

You can see where I sat here, in area 13: http://www.sachsenring-circuit.com/index_en.htm
