I'm planning on going this year for the my first time so I don't really know what to expect. What do you guys recommend 2 or 3 nights? And how much $$$ can I expect to pay including the price of the tickets? Thanks

Just become a Corner Worker and you get all the access you want, plus free camping. Camping is elbow to elbow though, but you can get better seats.

What do you think about camping? Reason I'm asking is, I want to save some $$$ and have fun. Someone actually told me that it's more fun to camp than to stay in a hotel. What are your thoughts on that?

Travelodge on North Fremont street in Monterey honors laguna seca visitors and will give a discount. I used to work there, but **** that place haha...they made me work shifts I didn't want to. The rooms are alrite unless you want something really nice try Embassy Suites or Monterey Plaza Hotel or the Marriot or Portola plaza. I can't wait for the MotoGP either...its gonna be nice seeing all the bikes cruise especially down Alvarado street or Cannery Row.

We stayed at the Motel 6 in Watsonville and the one in Salinas ast year.

$85ish a night fits our budget nicely.

Right now, the one in Salinas is booked but Watsonville still has some rooms. We have Wed-Sun night booked for '08!

Why not try some of the hotels in Marina or Seaside? I'm sure there are some that will fit your budget. Do you just go to Laguna? No downtown monterey or anything?

The available rooms in Marina and Seaside and Monterey are all above $250 a night now.

There is an awesome Motel 6 right off the highway in Salinas that was about 2 miles up the road from the campus parking lot we stayed at least year. It's all booked now though.

We still did Monterey Aq. and the warf and everything down there last year. Watsonville really wasn't that far of a drive.

I just now thought about reserving rooms and am buying the Laguna tickets for my fiancee as a Christmas or b-day present.

Ahhh...I see. I live in Marina, that's why I was just curious...haha. I used to work at this Travelodge off of North Fremont. The rooms were pricey..well they are always pricey for some reason, even on a weekend where nothing is going on. But the owner is a greedy guy...everyone from house keeping went on strike about 2 years ago. The rooms get booked quick! I didn't think it was like that...haha. Maybe we will all run into eachother that weekend.

Yeah, it's a little price gouging if you ask me. I found some rooms in Marina for $49.99. I was like heck yeah, then went to reserve them... well, it was $49.99 Wednesday night, $250 a night for the other nights.

I found a Howard Johnson or Econolodge, something along that medium level, wanting $1,000 a night. YIKES! :73:

man i love living in monterey....no steep hotel prices...

actually a few years back, me and some buddies booked a room down on cannery row, and when we asked for a street view they gave us this confused look....the rooms down there have a balcony overlooking the street, i highly suggest that if anyone can get it, its awesome at night!
