Hotels?

Does anyone have any suggestions on places to stay near the track? We are driving so we can stay a bit out.

Thanks!

I know some friends who are staying at the LaQuinta (heard it may be a little ghetto but I've never been)
and we're staying at the Westin right there in downtown. I know there are still room avail at LaQuinta and that's why all my riding buddies booked there

Most of the hotels are making you prepay for the room now and there is no refunds since it is an event weekend. I found if you go through this link and book it online you do not have to pay until 1 month before the race.

I just bought my Indy ticket today and staying at a Motel 6, but I am at least flying down. I drove down last year to catch F1 Indy, but not doing that 9 hr. drive again (that took me 14 hrs.) nor willing to ride down that far on an RR.

I'd like to meet up w/ the other members of this forum there. Is there a specific place/date to meet? I can only do it for Sat. nite.

Stay downtown...if you have money the Conrad is very nice and so is the Cantebury. Otherwise you have the Hilton, Hilton Garden, Hyatt, etc.

CANT WAIT!

That is why we booked our room MONTHS ago. Once the hotels realized that it was an event weekend, prices went through the roof. Some important advice for those who have already booked their rooms...

MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR CONFIRMATION SENT TO YOU EITHER IN HARD COPY OR ELECTRONICALLY!!!!

Some places are super shady and will sell a room out from under you for an inflated rate. For example, I booked our room for $76 a night several months ago. I dont even want to know what the price is now, but I had to call like 7 times before they finally sent me my confirmation. No way they are bumping us now.

I still see plenty of rooms available for around $150/night or so.

What hotels are most people staying at, rates, how far from the track?

Hotels knew about this event way before we even thought there was a Motogp Indy date :) The thing about it is that these hotels get tipped off first. That's how they score majority of their weekend revenue. I know this becaues I worked in a hotel that relied the majority of their revenuw on conferences and conventions. During certain times of the year, rates were higher than others.
