We got one Honda in the top 10 in race #1 courtesy of Checa (Carlos, not his little brother); in race two... Kenan puts it in the top 10 with Checa in 11th. Not bad. Kind of disappointed by Kiyonari, who was hovering around the 20th position. Good show for the Hondas despite it being the least developed bike on the grid.

Bayliss takes race #1, surprise, surprise (rolls eyes). Didn't expect Nieto up top in race 2, but either way, both races have a high concentration of 1098s in the top 10, shoot top 5!

What a race for WSS!!!!!!!!! Came down to the final 500ft...and Broc Parkes made a SWEEEET slipstream move to take the race. Incredible racing, once again, from WSS.

Bayliss rode like a madman in Race 1. Not too smart, but he kept it together and won, which is all that matters I suppose.

Haga's move was one of the worst I've ever seen. I wanted to feel sorry for him, but I really don't.

Race 2 wasn't as exciting, but still good stuff.

I'm just glad to be watching moto-racing again.

My thoughts exactly. I couldn't believe Bayliss won the first race..LOL. Did you see the one lowside save he made. It was nuts. Haga should have just waited to the next corner to get Biaggi back instead of pulling his arm off the bars mid corner causing him to crash. Ten Kate needs some more track time before they become competitive with the new 1krr. Plus they have a all new rider line up, former WSS rider, BSB rider and MotoGP rider. I think they all need time to adapt to WSBK. I'm a Honda fan through and through, but I would like to see Biaggi take the championship on a privateer ducati!

This just in. A recording from Haga's helmet mic from race 1:

"Dang that Biaggi. Always overtaking so tough. Now I'm right behind him. What!? Why is he stop short? My front tire touched his! BIAGGI! You stupid.... whoa, whoa, whoa, (*clunk*) ow, my head, oof... where's my bike? Where's my bike?"

Biaggi is an ass, but it's too bad Haga screwed up in the way he did... it'll hurt, physically, and his momentum.

I don't think he meant Biaggi was an ass for that particular pass, just that he is an ass in general. I think that was a clean pass too, Haga just got a little hot-headed for some reason and off he went. That will definitely be a candidate for boneheaded move of the year :icon_lol:

ya know i have also heard biaggi is a whinning ass but i think the move to WSB was good for him. he seams pretty genuin and humble in the after race interviews. the commentators were talking about how him and xaus have bad blood but he actually congradulated ruben after race 2 in the interview.

maybe he is maturing and feals more at home in WSB than he did w/ rossi hounding his ass in gp.

Foret was killing the rest of the field. Fortuitous for his teammate. Those R6s are friggin' fast and the CBRs have their hands full this year. Too bad for Rea and Pitt, but I tell you... That's evidence right there about how much traction control has ruined racing. Rea found out the hard way TWICE this weekend that you can't just pin the throttle mid apex, or clip the slippy stuff WOT and expect the bike to stick. Coming from those trick 1Kcc BSB bikes, WSS is a whole new ride. Too bad too, because Rea and Pitt were dang fast!

I honestly didn't think those R6's are much to be concerned about. Yeah Foret would've won the race but Foret is a former WSS champ and both Ten Kate bikes crashed out. Even then, an out of nowhere privateer Honda almost got the better of Broc Parkes.

It sucks that Ten Kate walked away from the weekend with zero points but they've won the last 6 championships. As long as they don't have a bunch of mishaps like last weekend they're still the fav to win again.

As for Rea and traction control, it very well could be that he is used to being able to get away with being more aggressive on the throttle with his HRC Fireblade. But also remember that he was on Michelins before which by most accounts are significantly better than the spec Pirellis in WSS. Rea was a bit over exuberant in BSB too so to be honest I wasn't surprised that he crashed out. I hope he calms down a bit and gets on with doing the business.
