Rear cowl assembly

The previous owner bought a set of monster fairings (or so he says). I have the rear cowl, but it is not yet assembled. It is currently in 3 pieces (the latching mechanism part, the mid layer which is the color of the cowl, and the top little black nub). Being that all 3 parts are plastic, what is the best way to attach these together? Will regular screws hold without cracking the plastic?

Pic would help,

Not sure what a "regular screw" is, but plastic cracks easily.

Pre-drill holes to correct size to pass bolts w/o interference , and no larger.

Use good SS washers and a dab of RTV to make bolts hold fast.

Or use Nylock nuts.

I hate those things.....
