Hi guys,

Recently sold the ninja 250 i rode for 2 seasons. I am quite impatient generally so i recently bought an 04 CBR600RR with 25000km. It's in the shop now getting a few things done. I want my damn bike and waiting sucks.
I think i may also have problems with the HID kit?? that someone had installed. It flickered then went out while the bike was idling but was on when riding. I guess i will figure that part out eventually (or just go back to stock bulbs).

Anyways if i ever get this thing on the road i'm sure i will be posting questions to any answers i cant find here.

My first impression of this bike is, its bloody heavy :P

Cheers,

Colin

Hey congrats on stepping up to the 600RR! Welcome to the community as well, you'll find all kinds of great information on here. As far as your lights go, it could be something to do with your starter button. I had that problem with mine, (lights would work sometimes and go out other times) and the service rep said, "You know when you start the bike and the headlight cuts out for a second and then turns back on when the bike starts?" to which I replied yes. They then said, "Well sometimes the button can get gunked up or sticky over the years, so the bike is thinking the button is still pressed down effectively keeping the headlight off. It should be something simple like cleaning out the housing and it should go back to normal." They cleaned it out and I haven't had a problem since. Apparently it's not too uncommon. Hope this helps!

Awesome great move! the power is going to blow you away :)

i had the same feeling moving from a smaller bike, the weight is almost uncomfortable but you get used to it.

black and silver 04 600 here

So I finally got it out of the shop yesterday and on the road! yay!

HID's are working for now. Was going to replace them with stock bulbs but previous owner cut the wires and the connectors are gone SIGH. need a new headlight wiring harness, i think i can find something from salvage places. Anyways everything is working for now so not gonna mess with anything.

Also the next time i buy a used bike i am really going to pay attention and not be in such a rush!! I thought this bike had 24000 km... ya i just figured out it was miles not km. so 40,000 km. But whatever ! the engine sounds great and the tranny also feels fine.

I am sore as hell from riding for 3 hours!!! my legs, my butt, my lower back, and my neck! from holding my head up to look fwd.
But other than that i think i'm in love :) It's awesome!
