I recently upgraded to this bike from a 500r and I tried both 10w40 and the OEM 10w30 with it.
from feel alone the thinner oil felt smoother and with that bikes humble 47hp powerplant the difference in oil viscosity seemed noticeable. if you're after smooth acceleration and responsiveness 10w30 seems to be the better choice.
as for the sythetic or mineral debate I've only ever used the mineral coctail.
i'll probably stick to that for the time being although I've only heard positive reviews for the sythetic Amsoil alternatives.
