Yet another oil question. Have you tried using the search function be for posting?

Oil is a personal preference. Ask 5 diff ppl, you'll get 5 diff answers. Personally I use repsol full syn w/ oem filter.

That's three diff types right there. Mobil, rotella, and repsol.

Try researching before posting.

We should start giving these guys who don't search false info.

Best thing you can use is extra virgin olive oil. Have to change it every 1000 miles but it's way cheaper and will repair seals

The best deal will and has always been the 3 pack of Mazola Corn Oil. Only $7.99! Not even Honda GN4 is that cheap. Plus it's cholesterol free! Think how good your engine will feel.

EDIT: Ok, to really answer your question...I've used the Mobil 1 full sync ($10/qt at Pep Boys). It's OK, doesn't last as long as Motul Double Ester ($16-17/qt) or Repsol ($18/qt i think). Honestly, Honda GN4 ($7/qt which is the regular non-synthetic stuff from Honda) seemed to last longer and shifting was smoother than Mobil 1 syn. Sooo...there's my 2 cents.

Let me tell you this....for someone (talking about myself here) who blew an engine at only 5800 miles (not too sure why, but had to spend $2000 for a new engine + labor), spending a little more on oil just to have peace of mind totally makes sense.

WUT . There is 4 quarts in a gallon. The bike takes 3.1 quarts. Which leaves you with slightly less than a quart left.

I guess that would work if you alternate buying a gallon and quarts. Buy gallon. Do oil change. Next oil change buy 2 quarts. But that still leaves you with 2.9 quarts.

Or you could buy a gallon. Do 1 oil change with it and from there on buy 3 quarts and use the .9 gallon you had left to put the .1 to make 3.1. And once you use up all that .9 gallon buy another gallon jug. I think I just confused myself with oil change math.

trying Amsoil now....seems about the same but not as smooth on shifts after a couple of k miles.

both expensive.....my next will be rotella T6.

EXCUSE ME?! Who the fawk are you to tell ME to try another forum! If you don't like the response switch over to that cbrforum.

Edit: it's not that I don't like what ppl ask it's the amount of time the exact same question is asked. If its a new question that has not been asked a million times before bring it. Other than that try cbrforum.

if you used it last year with no issues and it ran smooth,
then why the fvck would you ask if you should switch?

you want the best? use motul 300v. better yet, amsoil.
but if you want super fast laptimes like stoner and pedrobot, go with repsol.
