just stick a deep well socket on the other end and tap it out.

 

I am unable to get the bolt holding the axle off; thats whats giving me the trouble... (the left side looking at the bike)

Im sorry for being THAT guy....

 

Put the nut back on (partially) and use a rubber mallet to tap on the nut and push out the axle.

Did you mean you can't get the nut off? If so, re-tighten the pinch bolts on the side opposite from the nut to prevent the axle from turning while you remove the nut.

 

I ment the nut. its not reverse threaded is it? i just wanted to make sure im not going to mess anything up with a impact driver.

 

The bolt has the typical clockwise thread (Turn right to tighten and left to loosen). The pinch bolts on the other end of the axle should be kept tight so that you can loosen the axle bolt. After the axle bolt has been loosened you can undo the pinch bolts. You do not need to remove the pinch bolts, just make sure that they are loose. To get the axle out, put the axle bolt back into the axle at least a few turns and gently tap with a soft (or rubber) hammer. If you think you will damage the threads you can always use a socket and an extension to push on the outside edge of the axle.
