I'll be the first!!

Well i know they are two sides to bikes, racers and stunters but Im kinda both. So I quess ill start off this forum and say. I LOVE WHEELIES!!!!!!!!! Ok with that said give some advice and comments with wheelies on the RR. I found it easiest to be in first gear up to like 8k rpms let off the throttle then grab a hand full and say hey to the sky. Lets here some stories and helpful hints

whats up...looks like were the only two.....thats how im going about launchin the front end up in first gear too.....but if you want it to be smoother, bring it up to around 10k and just grab a bunch of throttle....it should power right up without having to blip the throttle. a lot smoother...but you will obviously run out of rpms quicker. i cant for the life of me ride them for any length of time cause the front is so heavy, nor can i get the front end up in second gear...any hints??? o yea.....the bike does good stoppies too....very light in the back end. :bounce:

You got a third guys,
I like speed but you don't get much of that living in a city. I'm also doing power wheelies at 8,000rpm. The bike does go right up. My buddy swears that it'll pop up without the clutch in 2nd. True/Untrue? I can't get it off the ground. Also, I feel like I need a large runway to get it up. So far pulled only one stoppie. Afraid of losing the tail b/c it's so light.

If my friend can do 2nd gear wheelies on his TT600 I hope it can be done on the RR. He goes about 55mph, revs it up, pops the clutch and tries to bounce it. He can actually stand up in 2nd on the highway, pretty impressive.
Dont POP the clutch. Feather it out! Or the bike will rocket away from you.

This is the easies way to do a second gear wheelie.
Note: I havent tried it on my RR this is how I did it on the F4i

· Get in second and get teh RPMs up to about 8 or 9
· pull in the clutch and open the throttle all the way up
· Feather the clutch out and the front wheel will lift up slowly

Watch the clutching part it takes a while to get comfortable. If you POP the clutch you are in trouble.

Note: Cover the back brake. If you feel the bike looping slam the back brake and it will come down (HARD) - if you dont forget to release the throttle!

Good luck and for god sakes wear your gear when you do this.

He explains the process. Read through the post.

Basically soak the sand paper and then sand away like you normally would. Make sure the surface is nice and wet and continually apply water while you are sanding.

You now know how to " wet sand"!!:)

Well, I just got the front wheel up for the first time... :bounce: I wasn't expecting it because I wasn't trying to so it kinda suprised me and I throttled back which was good because a deer jumped in front of me and If I'd still been accelerating it would have been bye-bye-bambi and RR all at the same time. So anyway, just got on the throttle in first gear and up it came, although I have to point out that I was going up a hill which makes it easier.

For 1st gear, when everyone says ease off. thats a bit of an overstatement. If you ease of too much the bike will just jerk. You need to just blip it.

Get the throttle open full(i mean blistering 100%) and then at about 7-8k just nudge it off then back on full, as mentioned above, try it on a hill as you'll be able to keep it up longer without the front wheel being too high. My best mate says keep it coming up untill you see clouds then click up to second. but that sounds a little hectic for me.

You'll always think your front wheel is a lot higher than it really is. when your at balancing point in second you won't be able to see the road in front unless standing. but just keep with the power wheels until you mega confident, I have endless experiences of mates dumping there bikes trying to rush with various clutching methods!

Remember your doing it just to make the children smile.

I dunno whats wrong with my rr but it really doesnt want to wheelie. My gixxer would come up with little ease. I sit back all the way and close the throttle then fully open it around 8-9k like I did on my gixxer but it doesnt want to go anywhere. Wonder whats wrong.

It's a TRACK bike not a STUNT bike.....

It's just like Easty says. Hard on the throttle to lift the weight off the front forks then off and back on. This will compress the forks and use the rebound to provide lift. If it's not coming up, then you may not be letting the bike compress the forks enough. Slow you blip. It is harder to get the front wheel up, but not too bad once your timing is down.

i winded my self when the screen hit my chest on saturaday. there was a quick drop on some fast twisties. And I was just right in the power band in 2nd. so I give it loads going over the crest. :bounce: Then realised it was a lot bloody steeper than I first gathered  . I got up off the bike and the front went about 80degress and winded me bad :yikes:. landed with an almighty thump and bottom'd out. not sure ifthe back wheel came up. but I bet it looked sweet for the car going up the hill.

Again the RR (my best mate) didn't even twinge slightly, I expected one hell of a slaper. this is a lesson well learnt for me :bitchslap: . dike bridges and quick drops are cool for power wheels but i'm no TT rider. once again anouther lucky heart stopping moment!

Mine comes up in 1st gear with just throttle, no bounce no nothin'... Mind you that's going uphill a bit which I know is easier. On the other hand, I'm enormous (200 pounds) so I'm sure you regular sized folks should be able to do it on throttle alone on the flat.
Update: Yeah, comes up on the flat too, using the 8k, off and back on method even with a big boy on it!

I done my first wheelie about a week ago. I had been swiming with some friends and was going to leave (had only had the bike like a week) I was still a little sketchy about the starting off thing because all ive ever rode was a dirt bike and you must give a street bike many more RPMs to start off so i killed it :? I was like freaken great so i start it back up and try again and kill it again :x so I cussed and let a G.D bomb fly out of my mouth and gave her many RPMs and dumped the clutch and did a whooping like 2 inch wheelie =)
