Hi. In my limited sportbike experience thus far, I have to say that I have accidently waved to scooter riders on maybe 3 occassions. I guess it is cuz my mind was fooled by some of the newer model scooters that sport front ends that resemble a crotch rocket from a distance: just so happens to be that that distance is the distance where I decide to wave or not, and by the time I realize it is a scooter, I have already waved. hehehe. Any1 else have similar experience? It does make me feel stupid of myself for a few seconds

newsflash: you are not special or superior just because you ride a sports bike.

there ain't SH!T wrong with waving at scooters. I don't necessarily believe in karma but the guy I didn't wave to might. He also might be that same guy that is the first one to "scoot" up on me when I fall down lying helplessly in the ditch. I'd hate for him to just keep riding on because the last sportbike he saw didn't wave as all 2 wheelers SHOULD! Grow up and set yourself apart from the people that have to be cooler than all the rest and just f*ckin wave. You might make his or her day. :tard:

Hehe, I guess. For that reason I will just wave, especially if it is a hot chick on the scooter.

I like the guys who think they are in a whole different league on their harleys w/ goatees, bandanas, and no gear that will not wave to you. That pisses me off. I wave and get nothing. The time I put the finger up it is usually too late lol. Squids

this happens around here too! one of my friends got so pissed one day.. he did a FAST Uturn.. caught back up to the "vin diesel looking guy on the harley" passed him, flipped him off.. turned back around, and caught back up to our group in a matter of minutes.. he said he felt better haha:gun1:

I wave at scooters all the time. They usually always wave back. Pretty much the only type of people I don't wave to are the wanna be mid life crisis losers on custom choppers with ape hangers wearing their wife beater shirts with their hairy pits sticking out in the wind, lol.

The other day, I waved to a scooter and as it got closer I realized it was a smokin' hot chick and she gave me a huge smile and waved back like crazy.

u should've turned around and followed her! lol.

the new scooters look a lot more agressive these days. sometimes they can fool you and look like they're sportbikes from the front. i don't see a problem waving at them.

Heck, I'll wave at people walking down the sidewalk. Alot of people think that sportbike riders are all speed demons. It's fun to prove to them that we can also be responsible and don't all ride like idiots.

I've also waved over a 4 lane highway with a huge median. I don't care. I'll just keep going.

Let's start a annual event by 600rr.net members.

National Wave to Cars Day.

The whole day, all riders are encouraged to wave to every single car they see on the road. Whether it's a massive wave across a parking garage, or individual personalized waves, the point is to have your clutch hand ready at all times.

Who's in? I think next week sometime is good, say August 1st, since mine will be in the garage getting some paint.

Let me know how it goes, guys.

haha that sounds like a good idea ^^^. But.... I always wave to anything on 2 wheels except bicycles. I usually get a wave back but if not its no big deal. The other day about 100 harleys came thru town some big harley convention around here somewhere but I passed them all and had my hand out for about 15-20 minutes on and off and just about all of them waved back. My dad is a big harley guy so I get along with those guys.

i also own some scooters, i got 2 for dragracing & 1 for touring, you can buy a new 600RR with my 2dragscooters alone & accelerate like an F18 on a steam catapult.

my touring scooter is a Yamaha Aerox R with Polini & Malossi tuning parts & a Leo Vince exhaust pipe, it can do a decent 70mph topspeed, i'm currently upgrading it for the occasional trackday, it's got Brembo MC & calipers as OE & soon the stock 190mm front disk will give way to a 250mm Malossi (Galfer) wavey disk for the extra stopping power.

the real scooters are the ones that they bring in from europe not the copycat junk from china, nothing beats a scooter in city traffic & very tight twisties, it can also be an alternative form of transport.

have a look at the Gilera DNA & tell me you don't want one of these in your garage.

there is a 50cc 2stroke, 125cc 4stroke & 180cc 4stroke model & tuning parts are plenty from Malossi & Polini.
