BMC air filter worth it?

Anyone have feedback on the BMC air filter?

Thinking about getting one & wondering where you see most power gain.
How does it affect MPG?

What should I expect to pay for a 'used' one if I can find it?

ok first(not to be an ass) but this has been covered lots, search filter, race, intake, that type of thing, bmc is too short i think

anyways, on a stock bike its pretty much no use, no improvement. but as you upgrade it helps the future mods gain more power. not much though. if you went with full exhaust, ram air pipes, v-stacks, pcIII(custom map), then it will give you a few hp. nothing to jump up and down about though, the other mods listed will get you more.

And buying a used filter? i guess you could, but i would never do it.

thanks- I did try a search on BMC filters and came up with nothing.
I found a 'slightly used' bmc filter on e-bay for $20 but missed the end of the auction and no one won. When I e-mailed the person selling it, he wanted $50 for it!

I think I'll save my $50 based on what you said.

If you dont have anything done to the bike, i wouldnt bother with it because the filter flows so much air that you will have to have it mapped. i have a full exhaust and pc3 and im getting the filter in a few weeks but im going to have to wait till the new year to have my pc3 remapped to accept the air filter.

I could see full exhuast, Filter, Factory Pro Vstacks, and a power commander along with a custom tune. Stock filters actually pretty good.

I'd suggest it;s just the same, and any other mods you do that "work with the filter" it's the other mods giving the gains, not the filter. It's simple, the filter either flows more air or it doesn't. Just coz you put an exhaust system on the bike doesn't then mean the air filter al of a sudden jumps into action and opens up etc. LOL If you could get one cheap, I'd say get it for reusablitly, other than that, I'd stick with stock
