  • pull connector off. i just grab them by the sides with thumb 'n finger and pull strongly, but gently
pull rubber casing off. this should be fairly easy to pull.
  • remove metal spring. i loosen the screw at the bottom; i do NOT remove the screw completely. i do it just enuff to me the metal spring easier to move. if u do remove it completely it's not a big deal. just makes things more difficult for u. there's a hook on the top part of the bulb casing which u'll have to push in and to the side to get the spring off.
  • slide H7 out. u may have to remove the black plastic connector backing to the bulb and push onto your sylvania's. some aftermarket bulbs come with them, others do not.
  • just reverse what u did.
  • slide bulb in makin sure it's fitted
  • reconnect the metal spring.
  • push rubber back over casing makin sure the connectors go thru the hole.
  • reconnect the stock plug

The connector should pull off easily when you squeeze the tabs in.

there is no reason to loosen the screw, just push the metal wire to the side.

You will want to replace the center marker bulb with something white also. I didn't at first and it looks stupid with the white headlights.

Hey there,

I'm in the same boat as the guy who started this thread years ago.

The only thing i don't get is, what do i need to take off to get at the bulb? Do i need to take the front end apart, or is there an easy way to get the glass casing off?

Thanks,

joe

What are you trying to do just change the bulbs or remove the complete
headlight asm off the bike a specific question would help
Hey Moeman,

I just want to replace the bulbs...both my hi and low beams are blown.

Thanks for the attachment, but i ride a '97 600. So it is somewhat different with the single headlight.

Thanks again!!

Here you go man same pricipal step like the RR
1.Remove the Rubber boot
2.Pull the plug by squeezing both of its ends
3.There will be a spring holding the socket's assm
one end of it will have a ledge to it pull it towards you
then down and it should come off its grove in the housing
itself
4.Pull the bulb out you have an H4 bulb which is a dual beam
high and low
Try it any questions pm me

Quick question. Where are these schematics located on that bikebandit.com website? I am putting my plastics back on my bike after it being apart for a year, and my mind is a little cloudy on mostly how the headlight assembly and such was all put together,
