Engine jumps back and forth at around 7k rpm

So I recently noticed my 2008 cbr600rr at about 7k rpm, the engine and rpm would jump down and up from like 6.8k rpm to 7 back to 6.8 etc, until I either shift up or down, or rev through 7k rpm. At first i thought it might be my noob throttle control as i know it is very sensitive, but I make it an effort to focus on the throttle when i get up to 7rpm and thats when it happens. I can get pass 7k rpm and itll be fine but when i try to hold the throttle steady and cruise at around 7k rpm it does that. It never did that when I got the bike, Only mod ive really done on the bike is replacing the generator/ stator cover because it was scratched. I dont have a torque wrench, so i just pretty much do a hand tight on everything. Maybe i tightened it too much? Bike is only at 5k miles. any ideas? or maybe its my noob throttle control?

so i did a bit of research and a lot of people said changing the fuel filter fixed that problem. (not even sure if i have the same problem). Knowing that i ran into another problem, I read that the 07+ does not have fuel filter that can be changed by itself, youd have to change the whole tank or ssomething like that. anyone can confirm this or any help would be great thank you.

Wondering whether I should reply even though I never received one.

Replacing the stator cover, in any fashion, would not cause your symptom. Even if you plugged it in half way, I don't think this specific symptom would occur.

The fuel filter in our bikes is referred to as a fuel strainer. The fuel strainer is located on the fuel pump. It may not be changed separately. You have to change the entire fuel pump in order to change the fuel strainer. The fuel pump is within the gas tank.

Your symptom so is minute that the cause maybe just as minute, such as, poor quality gas or poor maintenance.

How many miles does your bike have?
What is your maintenance history?
What modifications does your bike have?
Does the rpm bounce between 6800rpm and 7000rpm in neutral? (Don't try this, just asking in case you have already tried.)
Does this symptom happen, or vary, in any gear?

sup man, if you feel dissed and or offended, im sorry but that was not my demeanor and hope theres no bad animosity between us. I wasnt diligent on my part. hopefully in the future there will be a chnace for me to make it up to you.

but the bikes at 5500 miles, changed oil at 4500. Only mod is a slip on. Other than that, no other maintenance has been done to it. i noticed this mightve happened because i let the bike sit for a month during the winter without starting or winterizing it? its a 2008. and no i have not done that in neutral. thank you.

Ding!!!

Well around that rpm area but ding!! anyway :)

How the hell do you guys ride that keep coming up with these scenarios where you hold a steady throttle at 7k (or 8k or 10k) and stare at the tach long enough to notice it's fluctuating by 200rpm? Unless you're hauling ass and need the punch (in which case you shouldn't be staring at your tach) SHIFT and get the bike out of the area where the second injectors kick in.

Watch your hand sometime holding a steady throttle at any rpm, it's not that easy to bee 100% steady either. I really feel like you're looking for problems that aren't there. If it runs fine everywhere else leave it, it's probably not the bike.
