i guess the wind was deflecting off your windscreen and hitting you right in the face....or where you close to the other flowing traffic, and some big truck s where flying by you ...???

 

I even tried moving my head up or down, that didnt work either.

 

This happens to me when I ride with heavy traffic or big trucks. Also back home when I use to ride two up, depending on my passengers positioning occasionally I would get wind whipped a little more than usual

 

yeah i would put money on big trucks flying by you....so you where bumping helmets with your passenger huh??? i hate that!!

understand that most of the wind is being deflected away from most parts of your body. your head though is getting it by a lot of wind.

Sometimes when acclerating really hard and you aren't in a tuck yet some wind gets caught under your chin strap and it feels like it wants to pull your head off. haha.

 

Its just weird because its never happened to me before in 10,000 miles.

 

Its not the wind. Its your girlfriend. Seriously - her head position is causing a "suction" behind your helmet and buffeting your head from side to side. Happens to me too. Don't know how to stop it, unless she ducks well out of the airstream.

RiseAbove, get that sig down to 150x500 max

earplugs, double bubble, ad lighter helmet like the Shoei x-11 will help tremendously with wind. Also tell your gf to just look over your inside shoulder.

Are you sure the helmet fits tight enough? If the helmet too big it can flop around too much.

 

just curious. how does ur helmet fit? if u shake ur head from left to right, does it move a lot? it should be like a fitted cap, perfect fit. this was my problem when i had a bigger sized helmet.

 

I have a puig double bubble, AND I have a Shoei RF-1000 helmet. It fits perfectly.

 

I think it is the wind with your passengers position.
