Alright, so I was working on my bike and all I need was a simple diagram of how to bypass the BAS. I kinda figured it was simple... Did a search on 600rr and saw too many people asking the same thing how do you bypass BAS. Look no further, I will make this NICE, EASY and SIMPLE. All you have to do is USE THE SEARCH!

Answer: Tap Green Wire and Red Wire.

  • Here's what you will need:
  • 1.0MM Flat Head. ( Computer Screw Driver)
  • Open Spade Connector
  • Electrical Tape

(Note: My bike is already a street fighter, so I have easy access.)

  1. 1. Remove components that are attached to the bike to get to the B.A.S.
  2. Unclip the B.A.S
  3. Notice How GREEN WIRE is on the far end and the RED WIRE is on the opposite end and Yellow is in the middle.
  4. Refer to the picture Pull RED WIRE and YELLOW WIRE. There is a BLACK tab. CAREFULLY LIFT THE TAB! Then pull the two wires.
  5. Remember to slowly pull the wire out so that you don't snap it.
  6. Once the two wires are De-pinned, Make sure to match and take notice how it goes in, it only goes in one way, so be careful.
  7. Now Pin the RED WIRE NEXT to the GREEN WIRE. Leaving the Yellow wire on the opposite side of the Green Wire.
  8. Take the spade connector and it fits perfectly into the pin slot of the RED and GREEN Wire.
  9. Tape it up and you're done!

I am temporarily doing this to move my bike around my garage since my car is in the garage also. I will not be held responsible if you do it as a permanent Mod. BAS is supposed to shut off the bike when tipped over or dropped. Proceed with caution if you plan on keeping it removed.

I wouldn't suggest pulling the pins from the plug and reordering them...

You can buy the right spade terminals to go into the end of the plug, I would take a piece of wire and two of them and jump it that way.

Result is still the same though...

The bike will not turn on if the headlights are not plugged in due to the BAS being disconnected. if the BAS isn't activated, neither is your bike. This tricks the bike into thinking your headlights are plugged in so you can fire it up when the headlights are off and is pretty important for track days since almost everyone runs their bikes on the track without a headlight

My 2009 has different wire colors I'm trying to bypass for wheelies which I already do at the balance point and the BAS hasn't caused an issue. yet...

My wire colors are B/Br, B ,B/Gr I have heard you jump the outside two together and leave the middle any Ideas?

EDIT: FACEPALM! just noticed the wires change color at the connector problem solved

So somebody asked why earlier and others said you have to if you remove the headlights, but that must only be on 03-06's. So why would you do this? I removed everything from my 08 including the headlights and the bike runs perfectly. I did no BAS mod of any kind, so whats the point of this?

Unless I'm missing something, but would it not be easier and cleaner to completely remove the plug? Tie and shrink wrap green and red and then put a end cap and shrink wrap the yellow.
