Are these codes universal throughout the years?

I have a 2008 cbr600rr and my bike is throwing 2, 8, and 51. Im assuming the long pause between the flashes would seperate the codes. Need help on this asap Im supposed to be on track this saturday :/

if they are universal the codes u gave are as follows from an 07 manual:
2= MAP sensor performance problem
• Loose or poor connection of the MAP sensor vacuum hose
• MAP sensor malfunction

8= TP sensor circuit low voltage (less than 0.3 V)
• Loose or poor contact of the TP sensor connector
• TP sensor or its circuit malfunction

51= HESD linear solenoid malfunction
• Loose or poor contact of the HESD solenoid connector
• HESD solenoid or its circuit

hope this helps. as far as i know 07 & 08 are the same.

Yeah it must be bc I forgot to plug Map hose back in when I pulled the air box and that code was fixed. I also unhooked the power commander and the tp was fixed. No idea why the hesd one was throwing but after I reset the codes it hasn't come back on so I hope it's fine.

and the colors are...

naw man, there is a red connecter under the seat that has a cap on it, put a wire in the green and brown to short it. Honda makes a special tool for it but thats all you have to do to read your codes.
Found this in another thread...But it appears thhe 2 wires are brown and green.

You don't need to, just put it on the side stand in neutral and start her up, the oil light (MIL) will flash the codes to you if there are any.

If the bike won't start you will need to hold down the starter for between 10 and 12 seconds to get the code out.
What do u make of this?

So on the four plug on the 06, what are you supposed to short together. The Kick stand thing doesn't work the oil light just operates as normal.

hey guys, i got a 07 cbr600rr
and its throwing a code 51,would this not make the bike start.
the bike was crashed in the front and i put it back together, but wont start
i get a code 35 and 51, i removed the exhaust solenoid. just took it off, will that
affect performance.
thank you in advance.

Can anyone please help....
I just installed a HRC Loom and HRC computer on my 07 CBR600RR race bike
Its throwing up what looks to be a 1 code when ignition is on and when running.
The FI light flashes for about .5sec on then about 2sec off.

everything seems to be plugged in correctly, the HRC bank angle sensor is working, The engine starts, runs, rev's what seems to be fine and normal.
The MAP sensor is plugged in correctly, I traced the correct middle wire on the plug to the correct pin9 in the grey ecu plugs per wiring diagram and checked continuity is good. I also measured the input voltage and it is good at around 5v. The vacuum hose is not kinked or damaged in any way and is connected. The sensor was working before I ripped the harness out and replaced it so I don't think that is the fault.

I have a standard dash and I'm not sure if this is having an affect.
If anyone knows a little about the HRC gear and can point me in the right direction or what I may have done wrong it would be much appreciated, I have a race coming up soon and really need to get this sorted. No-one around here wants to know about it or has a clue about the harness or computer.

Thanks.

Edit. Dont worry, it was the MAP sensor after all, turns out it must have pooped itself as I changed the harness over somehow. I tried another one and it workd. Who wouldhave thought code1 is MAP sensor like it says.

This morning I refueled my 06' and pulled out if the station only to find a loss of power, I noticed the FI appear on the screen, then all returned to normal. Power we restored and no codes are flashing. This is the first time anything like this has happened to me so I've never had to troubleshoot something like it. My FI display is no longer on and all seems well however I'd like to know the cause for this. So my question is if the display isn't flashing, is there a memory of this mornings event hidden in the ECM that I can access? Or if no code visible, no code available?

Not that you can access yourself, no. You could take it into Honda and see what they can pull out of it although there may not be anything there to find...

Mil code sequence

I have an 04 CBR rr 600 that turns over but won't start. I have been diagnosing this for sometime with no luck. I am getting spark at the plugs and voltage at the coils and pulse generator but just sputters when trying to start. When reading mil code in memory I get a series of codes: 1 long 2 short followed by 1 long 3 short followed by 1 long 4 short followed by 1 long 4 short then the whole cycle repeats. No reference to this in service manual any ideas? Next step is measure voltage at cam pulse generator...

Check your injectors. Do you have a PC or the like?

No idea mate, that isn't flashing at the correct rate.

Is the plug for the stock gauges still attached? If so, plug in the stock gauges and see what happens...

Code 25? 2010

Last night I removed the PAIR system and installed block off plates then installed a Bazzaz Z-Bomb Timing Retard Calibrator and PCV. I turned on the bike and it starts and seems to run fine but I am getting the check engine light flashing what I believe is 2 long 5 short but I guess it could be 3 long 4 short but I dont think so there is not much of a pause between the long and short flashes. Anyways I can't find codes and have not purchased the service manual does anybody know what this could be? There was a plug going into the PAIR system that is just left unplugged it did not say what to do with it in the DIY for the removal so I assumed it is not needed. Any help will be greatly appreciated Thank you.

There's a plug that comes out of the back of the valve cover that goes into the right side of the air box.

There's also a vacuum host under the air box (small) that needs to be plugged in.
